Marine Piquepe began the LAMDA Awards ceremony by playing ‘Meadu’ on the piano most beautifully. Emma Reed was accompanied by Ms Ying with a stunning vocal performance of ‘Till There Was You’ and our saxophone group finished proceedings with ‘Ain’t She Sweet’. This was Keamen Jones, Rainer Oeijord, Mistral Musso and Year 6 student Kieron Quilty.
Key stage 3 students (Years 7, 8 & 9) were then awarded their LAMDA certificates. These externally assessed examinations in Spoken English and Communication are sat by the full cohort and so we are absolutely delighted by the superb results achieved by all.
Many students new to BISP and to speaking English can be very proud of their Pass marks and we celebrate exceptional numbers of Merit and Distinctions as well with over 70% of students in years 7, 8 and 9 attaining this level.
Our thanks to key staff in preparing the students: Ruth Baker, Catherine Gallaher and Tim Evans and to Hannah Collins for her support through the process.
Whilst celebrating the achievements of all particularly noteworthy are the students obtaining the highest levels in each year group. Recognition and congratulations to:
