BISP students and visiting teams from around Asia experienced two days of intense competition at our 3 on 3 U13 and U15 International Basketball tournament over the weekend.
With many spectators in attendance, the tournament showcased the very best attributes of the 3 on 3 format – speed, skill and entertainment value. Click here to view the tournament flickr album. To learn more about the 3 on 3 game, see our previous blog post.
Highlights from the event included our U15 Girls’ Stars team reaching the final after an exciting semi-final match against the St Andrews International School, Bangkok, ‘A’ team. The girls couldn’t quite do enough to overcome the highly skilled Prince of Wales ‘A’ team in the final, but showed great skill and determination out on court. Three out of four of the Stars players can compete in the U15 grade again next year.
The BISP U15 Girls’ Suns team were also winners of the Plate competition and BISP’s Alyssa won the U15 Girls’ Skills Challenge.
The finals segment of the tournament featured entertainment from Power Storm Crew, Thailand’s renowned breakdancing group known for its athletic style.
Well done to all our teams and athletes for their efforts and positive attitude over the weekend.
