The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (IA) programme at BISP is off to a great start this year, with students gearing up for exciting new activities & adventures. IA is the world’s leading youth achievement award, bringing together practical experiences and life skills to equip young people for life. Click here for more information.
BISP IA students have been keeping busy weekend after weekend. Last month, the Silver group had their first training session with Spice Roads, an international bicycling tour operator. The students learnt how to fix flat tires, adjust their bikes and plan their journeys. They also went on a short practice run near a local wake park, and are planning a 3-day practice expedition in November.
IA Bronze & Gold students, during a separate weekend, went on a team building hike led by BISP teachers – a bonding experience for everyone involved.
Later on in the year, the Bronze group will be going for Kayaking and the Gold group will be going keel boat sailing for their expeditions!
