The 2018 IB Visual Arts Exhibition opened on March 19 and showcases 5 talented students with a total of 55 pieces of work on display at British International School, Phuket.
Visiting Artist Rapeepong, an alumni of BISP, opened the 2018 exhibition. Mr Rapeepong was a semi-finalist in the young artist in Thailand awards in both 2010 and 2011. He graduated from BISP in 2012 and received a 7 in his Visual Arts course – he is now a successful full-time artist and has his own gallery in Phuket Town.
Within the course, candidates are required to work in three artistic areas including 2D, 3D and with digital media. Students Syakirah, Yim, Mathilde, Lea and Supapol, with the support of Art Teachers Ms McGuigan and Ms Lester and helped by Technician Khun Kiw, embraced this challenge with unique and thoughtful responses. Three of the five students are continuing to pursue Art at university.
