A small team of 27 swimmers from BISP Flying Fish travelled to Bangkok to compete at this year’s FOBISIA Championships.
All team members performed to the best of their abilities and contributed to the team winning the average points score trophy and 3rd overall position behind hosts Pantana Tigersharks and Bangkok Prep Bulldogs. BISP won over 60 individual medals and 6 swimmers finished with overall points trophies.
Nicholle Toh stood out as the only swimmer at the meet to win 6 individual events, taking out the 15/over girls’ trophy with Christina Tan second.
Est Sangaworawong and Arijus Pavlidi finished first and second respectively in the 15/over boys while Wern Rui Koay and Aryan Nehra repeated the feat in the boys 13/14 age group.
Our junior swimmers were very busy with our 12 year olds Arina and Rainer finishing strongly in their group with multiple top 5 swims.
Our young 9/10 year old boys performed well with the stand out swim coming from our 4 x 50 medley relay finishing with a bronze medal (Iaroalav, James, Zac and Nikolay).
Jeff La Mantia, BISP Athletics and Activities Director, said: “I am very proud of all our swimmers’ efforts and results throughout the FOBISIA event. They were great ambassadors for BISP and our Flying Fish programme. I hope everyone continues to train hard.”
Well done to all our swimmers!
