We have a partnership with SOS Children’s Village, Phuket which was set up in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami. BISP has been supporting their educational programme for several years particularly in English and Sports. Every week 16 children from years 3 and 4 visit the village which is close to school with their teachers. We take along learning resources in the spirit of community partnership and all students get the opportunity to participate throughout the year. Ms Hossack who frequently accompanies the students said “I love going to the SOS village and watching our students interact with the younger children. Both groups of children gain from playing, sharing and learning how to communicate’. Similar to the SOS activity which takes place in years 12 and 13s a real learning exchange takes place and our students benefit greatly from the experience, through developed confidence and social skills.
