The FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) Teacher’s Conference 2017 took place in HCMC, Vietnam. This was the second conference of this nature, with the inaugural conference being hosted at BISP in 2016. With the focus this year on FOBISIA Cares, a range of presentations were offered to attending teachers from across Asia on pastoral care, student wellbeing, mindfulness, online safety as well as leadership. Key note presentations were given by Jonathan Taylor, covert internet investigator and Ben Walden, the Artistic Director of Contender Charlie.

BISP Teacher of music and drama Ms Baker presented twice to delegates about using sketchnotes in the classroom, their place in education and to offer simple strategies and activities to begin using sketchnotes in their own classrooms. She also attended a range of workshops and produced live sketchnotes which were shared with the presenters.

Last year Ms Baker organised for BISP to take part in the ‘World Sketchnote Day’ and we look forward already to next year’s on January 11th.
