Last week, British International School, Phuket (BISP) teacher Michele Hossack competed at the 19th Asian Masters Athletics Championships in Singapore.
This competition is the main sporting event in Asia for track and field athletes aged 35 and over. More than 2,000 athletes from all over Asia took part in the five day event, which was held in the magnificent Singapore Sports Hub.
Michele, who represented Australia, competed in four events, the maximum number allowed, winning all four of her races and breaking the Asian W55-59 age group record in both the 400m and the long hurdles. Michele also improved on her own Australian record in the long hurdles.
Michele received certificates but no medals, as non-Asians are not presented with medals in Asian Championships.
