The weather was less than ideal during the warm-up, but by the time the race started the skies had cleared and the temperature was great for racing.
The flat 10km course left the island and crossed over the Sarasin bridge, adding some steps to spice things up. Crossing back over the bridge had the 10K and 5K race racers running side by side for the last three kilometres.
The course was on the road with only a few minutes of rain and there were some fast times. According to the hosts there was an astounding 2600 runners.
Hendrik Faber made his appearance for BISP placing 6th overall in the 10km, and the BISP community again showed up in large numbers with some more ambitions runners deciding to ride their bike to the race and then home again, in some cases adding an additional 60 kilometre ride to a 10 kilometre running race.
Thanks to Nicola Lowry and the event organisers for the photos, and well done all who participated!
